The program will provide a record amount of financial support, \$551,702, to 44 events in FY26. This major boost in funding recognises the state’s focus on investing in and delivering tourism by providing a variety of community based events.The Tourism Event Growth and Sustainability Progam is designed to help grow and sustain New Mexico’s tourism-related events by providing support through a mix of resources. New Mexico based groups who are hosting tourism-related events can receive technical assistance, promotional assistance and sponsorship to improve their events. Five packages of support are varied to enrich the quality and value of these programs, and to ensure they also contribute to the larger tourism objectives of New Mexico.Wide Range of Supports to Help Event GrowthThe program provides three specific ways to develop tourism events:Event Accelerator: This is to assist tourism events reach their potential by offering technical assistance and strategic planning. This program accelerates events that are looking to improve their operational health, marketing prowess and overall event excellence.Co – op Model : In this model NMTD contributes with other entities to develop their marketing campaign together. This guarantees for the events a wider coverage and exposure, reaching local pintores tourists as well as domestic and foreign ones.Sponsorship Support: The initiative sponsors mature events that have demonstrated a positive impact. This partnership always give these events the support they need to be successful and appeal to both domestic and tourist visitors.Most Events Taking Part everTwenty New Mexico destinations will host tourism events supported by the program in FY 2026. Of the 44 events receiving assistance, 26 are scheduled in communities across the state, outside of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, promoting the program’s impact across New Mexico. Thanks to the support of the Tourism Event Growth & Sustainability Grant Program, New Mexico True supported Community Day, offering complimentary access to the market’s last Sunday.
